APTA Spokesperson

David Pavao is chief clinical officer of Highbar Physical Therapy. He oversees the professional development of clinical staff, as well as in-house continuing education, to ensure that his clinical team and patients have an exceptional experience at Highbar. He is an adjunct professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Rhode Island.

Pavao earned both a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a doctor of physical therapy degree from the University of Rhode Island and is a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopaedic physical therapy.

He serves on the Legislative Committee of the Rhode Island American Physical Therapy Association and is an active member of the Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and APTA Private Practice. He specializes in manual therapy, acute and chronic spine pain, headaches, sports injuries, TMJ, and vertigo.
