Karen Brandon is the regional clinical practice lead for pelvic rehabilitation at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, California. She also teaches at Loma Linda University in women’s and men’s health studies and orthopedics.

Brandon serves in many leadership roles in health care. She is active in the International Pelvic Pain Society and chair of the DEI Committee of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health. One of her professional goals is to continue sharing the value of physical therapy in an interdisciplinary forum.

After completing a bachelor’s degree in experimental psychology and a master’s degree in physical therapy, Brandon earned a doctor of science degree in physical therapy. She is a board-certified clinical specialist in pelvic and women’s health physical therapy.

Brandon has participated in special interest group programming for physician-based groups, including the American Urogynecologic Society and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. She has served as an accreditation content expert for the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship, a reviewer for the Journal of Sexual Medicine, and an edition editor for Topics in Geriatric Rehabilitation on aging and sexuality. Brandon’s interest in expanding services in women’s and men’s health has taken her internationally to educate other healthcare professionals.
